Giddy Goat works to create delicious artisan products that are rooted in promoting a strong local food culture. We are located in Charleston, S.C. and receive fresh, hormone-free Grade A goats milk from small farms around South Carolina.
Farrah Hoffmire, co-founder of Organic Process Productions in 2005, had been producing award-winning documentary-films and media projects with husband Mitchell Davis. These films concentrated on telling the stories of people and places in order to educate people through media. A self-proclaimed “for profit social venture”, they aim to do well by doing good.
As the organization evolved, she began following her passion for local agriculture, farming, and food, first launching a Community Supported Agriculture program with Rosebank Farms (located in Johns Island, SC) and later making goat cheese. In 2009, she began selling Giddy Goat Cheese’s small batch fresh chevre in Charleston Farmers Markets and Rosebank Farms CSA program. Today, Giddy Goat Cheese is sold in local stores, farmers, markets, and restaurants throughout the greater-Charleston area.
So how does Giddy Goat Cheese come together with Organic Process Production and GiveGround.tv media projects? A portion of the profits from Giddy Goat sales go toward creating media, documentaries and art that help educate and engage the public. A portion also goes to other grassroots organizations that make the world a better place to live.
